I can’t believe this. Mitch and I met maybe once, but I know he was an extremely positive, awesome guy. He didn’t deserve this. This is too fucked up.
I only met Mitch once or twice as well, but he seemed like a great kid and super into punk rock. The one time I did meet him he was talking about doing guest vocals on a Flaming Tsunamis record, and the next time I saw him that night he was crowdsurfing during Paint It Black.
I unfortunately didn’t get to know him too well, but a lot of my friends were affected by this, and my heart goes out to them and Mitch’s family.
my heart goes out to all of his friends and family. rest in peace.

FUGUE
Fugue is an experimental/fusion/math rock group like no other. Reigning from Fairfield County, CT, they never cease to blow the minds of anyone who sees them live or hears their records. Their current releases include two EP’s, one entitled “Glass” and the other, “Siblings.” Both are available for digital download, and “Siblings” is available on 7” vinyl.

-Fugue’s Press
”Adjectives are a neat grammatical function, but don’t seem to adequately capture the musical product of Fugue. With the foundation of two guitars, one keyboard, drums and bass, Fugue manipulates basic musical functions of time signatures and scale to shape a finished product trumping any words. Maybe that’s why they call it math rock.”
- Inkwell Press
”There’s nothing I hate more than kids who are better than me at playing instruments. Before today I didn’t think listening to music could get me enraged to the point of wanting to break my laptop. That was the case until I heard Fugue. Long story short Fugue is pretty much five kids who through some freak accident learned to master the art of jazz fusion and choose to become a band to rub it in everyones face.”
- ctindie.com
“Virtuosos in Connecticut’s experimental scene, Fugue incorporates heavy influences of math rock, post-rock, progressive, and jazz fusion creating an impressive sound. Much like their puzzling genre (or lack thereof), Fugue’s tentative classification coincides with their elaborate, indescribable sound. Siblings, their newest EP, released in August by Rive Records, exemplifies this perfectly. While this EP is unique in more ways than one, I, personally, found it to be most notable for its concentration simply on music, rather than lyrics. While it’s definitely different from the music indie rock fans are accustomed to listening to, I found the absence of lyrics allowed me to focus my attention solely on the genius of the instrumentals. Each and every chord rings with mystifying harmonies, which is a rarity in latter day music. Powerful and inspiring, Fugue’s music defies the standards that epitomize the mainstream. This three song EP’s melodic sound furnishes the illusion of an orchestral escape, comprised of jazzy tunes and complex arpeggios.”
